Master in Nanotechnologies
Now accepting applications for 2007/2008
We are glad to inform you that the admission process has started for the
fifth Edition (2008) of the INTERUNIVERSITY MASTER IN NANOTECHNOLOGIES.
Our goal is to provide international students – graduated in chemistry, physics, materials science or engineering – with scientific and managerial skills, in order to pursue a career in nanotechnology.

Scientists from the most respected universities worldwide compose faculty. Last edition professors came from: MIT, Imperial College, Cambridge, UCLA, etc. Courses are taught in English.

Information about CIVEN
CIVEN, an association among the universities of Padua, Venice and Verona founded in 2003, has the mission to perform industrial and applied research, as well as to manage training activities in the field of nanotechnology. Civen is located in the heart of Veneto Nanotech, the Italian high tech cluster on nanotechnology, with an overall budget of € 55 millions in three to five years.
CIVEN has received a € 16 millions grant by the Regional Government of Veneto to start up two strategic initiatives:
a) An high level graduate master’s program
b) Applied research projects
R&D projects are carried out by Civen scientific staff (1 director and 12 researchers), in a newly build cutting edge lab, called Nanofabrication Facility (NFF), established by Civen and the Venice Science and Technology Park “VEGA”, in Marghera, 5 km mainland Venice, Italy. It includes 1,500 square meters of laboratories and 500 square meters of office space. It is furnished with toplevel scientific equipment worth more than 20 million Euros.
Program:
- 330 hours in nanoscience and nanotechnology;
- 150 hours in business administration and management;
- 40 hours of workshops and seminars;
- 3 months of internship at an international nanotech company.
Schedule:
- Deadline application : 31st October 2007
- Courses: January – July 2008
- Internship: September – December 2008 (mandatory)
- Graduation: Mid December 2008
