Logo_VEGA
VEGA (Venice Gateway for Science and Technology), is the City of technology and Innovation of Venice, the network between the Universities, the Excellence Centres, and the productive sector. It was to designed to back the competitiveness of businesses in the national and international markets.

VEGA is a science and technology park, a new concept regarding reduced environmental impact dedicated to hi tech businesses that need a direct contact with the research world.
A very rare regional structure in Italy, keeping pace only with those countries in which technological application businesses have become an important part of their economic systems.

The idea to realise a Park of Science and Technology in the Venice region and to locate it in the industrial zone of Porto Marghera dates back to the beginning of the nineties, a period of profound industrial transformations. The feasibility study worked out in 1993 by the Venice Research Consortium under the ambit of the project DG12 of the EC “Sprint”, with the support of EU experts and with the collaboration of diverse economic and social realities, individuated a series of advantages for the region.

The objectives set out include:
- Development of activities linked to innovation producing centres
- Technology transfer

Co-funded Project by:
